Most of the SLP private practice owners we talk to are doing the same thing I did for years: send patients home after each session with a paper handout or two (on a good day), and then it's silence until the next appointment. At the start of the next session, we ask how it went. The answer is almost always "fine," leaving us with no idea if the exercises happened or were done correctly, no way to know if the family had questions at 7pm last Tuesday when they attempted the activity, and no real visibility into whether any progress transferred to their day-to-day.
That gap between our clinics and what happens at home is an issue for both patient progress and practice revenue. Remote Therapeutic Monitoring is the billing pathway that addresses both, and most SLP private practices aren't using it yet.
